He added inside Lava is a two-story waterfall, which can project images, there are large lava lamps that decorate the area, and the staircase is wider to accommodate women wearing high heels. “There are laser lights, strobe lights and smoke effects.” The entire structure cost $12 million and took about one year to complete, Emery said. “We have a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system that cost about $1.2 million,” Emery said. The walls, seating, lava lamps and lighting are red. “There is nothing like it in New York state, except down in the city.” Emery said the two-story club is 21,500 square feet and the dance floor is 1,657 square feet. “This is a high energy and high quality dance club,” Emery said. Mark Emery, director of media relations said Lava had about 250 customers on Friday night and about 300 on Saturday night.
